When is check-in and check-out?
We don’t think you should have to adjust your schedule to fit ours, so we let you tell us when you’ll be arriving. That way we can be here when it is best for you. We can often check guests in as early as 12 noon and sometimes even earlier – just let us know when you’ll be coming in! Check-out is any time before 11am on the day of your departure.
Where can I park?
Feel free to park on either side of the street in front of the house. Please avoid parking in the driveway or in the pad at the end of the street as that is the neighbor’s driveway.
What does ‘Cannabis Friendly’ mean?
Glad you asked! First and foremost, there is NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND IN THE HOUSE OR THE POTTING SHED! In a nutshell, it means that we have a designated structure, separate from the house, for those who wish to consume cannabis without disturbing those who do not. Basically, if you want to consume, we have a place for you to do that. If you don’t, you’ll probably have no idea that it’s even an option. Do you take a deposit?
Just like when reserving a seat at a theater or on a plane, when you book a room, we hold it specifically for you. Unlike large hotels, we do not oversell our rooms. With this in mind, reservations are charged in full at the time of booking since we’re holding it specifically for you.
What is the cancellation policy?
Regardless of the reason for cancellation, shortening of reservation, moving reservation dates, or early departure: Single room reservations are non-refundable/non-changeable within 14 days of arrival. Group reservations, full-house bookings, and multiple rooms traveling together are non-refundable/non-changeable within 30 days of arrival. Cancellation or shortening of reservations prior to the 14 or 30-day period will be refunded less a $50 processing fee per room. Bookings for special events (including our annual 4/20 Event) are non-refundable regardless of when cancellation is made.
- As Covid-19 is now a known risk to travel, the above cancellation policy is in effect.
- This cancellation policy also applies to reservations canceled due to weather.
- Third-Party reservations (Expedia, Hotels.com, Booking.com, etc.) are non-refundable regardless of when cancellation is made.
- If you are concerned that you may not be able to make your trip for any reason or just want a little extra peace of mind and flexibility, we suggest you purchase travel insurance.
- If cancellation is due to official travel restrictions issued by federal, state, or local government, we will issue a Credit Voucher to be used within 12 months of the issue date.
Does the cancellation policy apply to cancellations due to Covid-19?
Yes, as Covid-19 is now a known risk to travel, the above cancellation policy is in effect. We suggest all of our guests purchase travel insurance. **If cancellation is due to official travel restrictions issued by federal, state, or local government, we will issue a Credit Voucher to be used within 12 months of the issue date.**
What about the Winter Weather Guarantee?
If you are concerned with the potential of weather affecting your travel plans, we suggest purchasing travel insurance as the 14 or 30-day cancellation policy also applies to reservations cancelled due to weather.
Are children allowed?
Due to being cannabis friendly, all guests must be 21 years of age or older.
What is breakfast like?
Please note that this is subject to change based on guidance from Federal, State, and Local government agencies.
Breakfast is served at 8:30 a.m. in the dining room and will include a variety of seasonal offerings. It is a full, hot breakfast, and you will not leave the table hungry!
Weather permitting, we serve breakfast on the screened-in porch where the tables are spaced at least 6 feet apart. When dining indoors, guests will be given the option of enjoying breakfast together at the dining room table or spaced throughout the house depending on individual comfort levels.
Do I have to eat in the dining room?
For those guests who prefer to have a private dining experience, we offer in-room breakfast for $25 per day. This will be served between 8.30am and 8.45am.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
With advance notice, we are more than happy to accommodate dietary restrictions or food sensitivities. Additional charges may apply.
Can I bring my pet?
For the comfort and safety of all of our guests, pets are not allowed. We are happy to recommend local kenneling services if you should need that.
Is smoking allowed?
Illinois regulations stipulate that smoking is not allowed anywhere indoors, inside The Potting Shed, or on the screened-in porch. Smoking is prohibited within 15 feet of windows or doors. Smoking is allowed on the patio next to The Potting Shed.

Arbitration
In the event the parties are not able to resolve any dispute between them arising out of or concerning these Terms and Conditions, or any provisions hereof, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise at law or in equity for damages or any other relief, then such dispute shall be resolved only by final and binding arbitration pursuant to the Federal Arbitration Act, conducted by a single neutral arbitrator and administered by the American Arbitration Association, or a similar arbitration service selected by the parties, in a location mutually agreed upon by the parties. The arbitrator’s award shall be final, and judgment may be entered upon it in any court having jurisdiction. In the event that any legal or equitable action, proceeding or arbitration arises out of or concerns these Terms and Conditions, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover its costs and reasonable attorney’s fees. The parties agree to arbitrate all disputes and claims in regards to these Terms and Conditions or any disputes arising as a result of these Terms and Conditions, whether directly or indirectly, including Tort claims that are a result of these Terms and Conditions. The parties agree that the Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this provision. The entire dispute, including the scope and enforceability of this arbitration provision shall be determined by the Arbitrator. This arbitration provision shall survive the termination of these Terms and Conditions.
Class Action Waiver
Any arbitration under these Terms and Conditions will take place on an individual basis; class arbitrations and class/representative/collective actions are not permitted. THE PARTIES AGREE THAT A PARTY MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN EACH’S INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PUTATIVE CLASS, COLLECTIVE AND/ OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING, SUCH AS IN THE FORM OF A PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL ACTION AGAINST THE OTHER. Termination/Access Restriction
Aldrich Guest House reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate your access to the Site and the related services or any portion thereof at any time, without notice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, this agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Utah and you hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Utah in all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of the Site. Use of the Site is unauthorized in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of these Terms, including, without limitation, this section.
You agree that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and Aldrich Guest House as a result of this agreement or use of the Site. Aldrich Guest House’s performance of this agreement is subject to existing laws and legal process, and nothing contained in this agreement is in derogation of Aldrich Guest House’s right to comply with governmental, court and law enforcement requests or requirements relating to your use of the Site or information provided to or gathered by Aldrich Guest House with respect to such use. If any part of this agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable law including, but not limited to, the warranty disclaimers and liability limitations set forth above, then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the agreement shall continue in effect.
Unless otherwise specified herein, this agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the user and Aldrich Guest House with respect to the Site and it supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether electronic, oral or written, between the user and Aldrich Guest House with respect to the Site.
